AGMP Concerts presents Direct from Jamaica TOOTS AND THE MAYTALS featuring Leba Hibbert 'Reggae Got Soul' 50th Anniversary Tour 1976-2026 + special guests The Maytals formed in the 1960âs and updated their name to Toots and the Maytals for their debut album âSweet And Dandyâ in 1969. One of the best known ska and rocksteady groups, they also are known for the first use of the word âreggaeâ in a song on their 1968 single âDo The Reggayâ. Frederick âToots' Hibbert was considered a reggae pioneer who was named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 100 greatest singers of all time. Known for classic reggae songs such as â54-46 Was My Numberâ, âMonkey Manâ, âPressure Dropâ, âFunky Kingstonâ, âBroadway Jungleâ, âBam Bamâ, âTime Toughâ and 'Reggae Got Soulâ, Toots and the Maytals are now fronted by Tootsâ daughter Leba Hibbert, who has released her own recordings and worked with Sly & Robbie, Jimmy Cliff and more. 14+ only. 14s to 15s must be accompanied by an adult.
