Central Line: The Heart Of Brit-Funk Emerging from the vibrant London soul scene of the late ’70s and early ’80s, Central Line was more than just a band—they were a rhythmic powerhouse that helped define the sophisticated sound of British jazz-funk. Injecting the airwaves with a crisp, infectious energy, the group mastered the art of “the hook” to build sonic landscapes that invited audiences to move. The lineup features Camelle Hinds, known for his tight, snappy bass lines and groove, alongside Nat Augustin, who provides velvet vocals and masterful guitar work. Together, they bring a colorful and euphoric experience to the stage. Whether performing hits like “Walking into Sunshine” or the rhythmic complexity of “Nature Boy”, their music carries a relentless and life-filled spirit. At their peak, Central Line bridged the gap between underground soul clubs and the mainstream charts, bringing an internationally acclaimed sheen to the Brit-Funk movement.
